Creating New Opportunities for Women in Business

Rethinking What Opportunity Looks Like

We’re living in a time where running a business — and even managing day-to-day life — feels tougher than ever.

Rising living costs, higher overheads, and constant uncertainty mean that for many women, what used to feel achievable can now feel like an uphill climb. Add to that the juggling act of running your own business — where you suddenly become every department — marketing, finance, admin, and HR — and it’s little wonder that so many entrepreneurs feel overwhelmed or isolated.

Through WBN, I’ve seen firsthand how many women are trying to do it all, often alone. That’s why I’m such a believer in creating multiple streams of income — not to work harder, but to create more stability, freedom, and choice.

We all saw during COVID-19 how those with additional income streams were better able to navigate uncertainty. But it’s not just about financial protection — it’s about creating opportunities that reignite confidence, community, and self-belief.

💚 Rediscovering an Opportunity I Almost Missed

I’ve been a Tropic Skincare customer since 2017, drawn to the brand’s ethics, results, and their commitment to doing good for people and the planet.

I knew there was a business opportunity behind the products, but like many, I made assumptions about MLMs (multi-level marketing models). I wasn’t against them, but I didn’t really understand how they worked.

I had always thought MLMs were full of targets, pressure, and endless selling — and that unless you were a natural salesperson, it wasn’t for you.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

I can’t speak for all MLMs, but I’ve since come to see that there are incredible ones out there, built on integrity, purpose, and community — Forever Living and Tropic Skincare being two that truly stand out.

When I finally explored the Tropic opportunity earlier this year, I realised I could have been benefiting years ago — even if only for the discounted price products I already loved. But as I always say, no journey is wasted. Every step — positive or challenging — shapes who we become. My 16-year journey in business has given me the clarity, confidence, and perspective to recognise when something genuinely aligns.

Why Tropic Feels Different

Tropic’s Ambassador model is refreshingly free from pressure and targets. You can build your business your way — whether that’s simply enjoying product discounts or creating a meaningful new income stream.

You can start your own Tropic business for under £200, and it includes everything you need to begin:

  • A Starter Kit worth over £600 packed with bestselling products and business tools

  • A full back-office system with CRM, training, social media and email content

  • Your own personalised website, live within one hour of signing up

When I think back to launching my first business in 2009, it took months (if not years) to have those kinds of systems in place. With Tropic, it’s ready within days — you can hit the ground running with full support behind you.

This month’s October Business Kit includes an extra product, still only £198 but worth over £600 in total.

And if you reach £500 in sales within your first 30 days, you’ll also receive Tropic’s beautiful Hydration Kit, which includes:

  • A Daily Planner
  • A Limited Edition Glass Water Bottle
  • A Skin Analyser Digital Reader

(I achieved this easily within my first month — a lovely early milestone that made me feel even more supported and celebrated.)

A Community That Lifts You Higher

What’s surprised and delighted me most since joining Tropic is the community.

7 ladies in front of Tropic banner in evening dressIn September, I attended The Tropic Glammies, an event celebrating the success of Ambassadors across the UK. As an introvert, I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive about spending a whole day with 5,000 women — I’d prepared myself for sensory overload.

But quite the opposite happened.

From the moment I arrived, I was swept up in an atmosphere of pure positivity, encouragement, and celebration. There wasn’t an ego or clique in sight — just women lifting each other higher and genuinely cheering each other on. I came away on such a high, and the buzz lasted for days.

We saw women of all ages and backgrounds — from their 20s through to their 70s — building thriving businesses, many reaching six and even seven figures thanks to Tropic. Age, experience, and background simply don’t matter here.

At the heart of it all is Susie Ma, Tropic’s founder and an incredibly humble leader. At just 36, she’s achieved extraordinary things, yet remains grounded, kind, and deeply appreciative of every single Ambassador.

Susie shared that since becoming a mum to her daughter Sienna last year, her whole focus has shifted — she’s driven to show her daughter what’s possible when you lead with passion, integrity, and care. Watching her speak, I knew I was part of something truly special.

A Brand That’s Changing Lives

Tropic’s Infinite Purpose is to help create a healthier, greener, more empowered world.
Their products are freshly made in the UK, certified vegan, cruelty-free, and CarbonNeutral®.

Their impact so far includes:

  • Funding over 7 million days of education for children in the world’s poorest regions

  • Building four schools (with a fifth underway in Nepal) through United World Schools

  • Supporting The Prince’s Trust – Women Supporting Women initiative

  • Donating over £340,000 to the Winnie Mabaso Foundation

  • Planted a Tropic Forest of climate-resilient trees here in the UK

It’s a brand that genuinely walks its talk.

Why It Aligns So Deeply With Me

In just four months, I’ve opened access to further kits, qualified for product discounts, received extra products to expand my kit, and I’m on track to qualify for Tropic Fest 2026 — all while working three days a week instead of four.

But beyond the achievements, it’s the feeling that matters most. This journey has reminded me to prioritise self-care, to put myself first for the first time since my 20s, and to stay connected to what I value most — empowering women.

This isn’t just about skincare. It’s about opportunity, confidence, and community.

Whatever your goals — whether you’re looking for a flexible side income, a fresh start, or a way to do more of what you love — you might find, like I did, that this is the perfect addition.

If you’re curious about how it works and how it might fit alongside what you’re already doing, I’d love to share more.

Of course, Tropic isn’t for everyone — and that’s the beauty of it.

I love the products, I’ve used them for years, and that makes this opportunity feel so aligned for me. But what I’ve learned through this experience is that when you find something you genuinely believe in — whether it’s skincare, wellness, creativity, or something entirely different — it can open doors to new income streams that feel natural and fulfilling rather than forced.

Finding something that fits your interests and lifestyle can be the difference between adding more pressure and creating more freedom. Whether it’s for now or for the future, exploring opportunities that light you up and support your goals could be the smartest move you make.
