We listen to our members to identify skill gaps and challenges so that we can deliver content that will help them and their businesses to thrive and grow.
Our guest speaker for this session is Hayley Tollervey from Chameleon Safety Services
Hayley’s journey through health and safety as a profession started 9 years ago, and has led her to work across a vast array of sectors from coffee shops, to large manufacturing facilties, construction and property management amongst many others. Whilst she loves working natiownide with companies of all sizes, she has a passion for trying to help clarify legal duty for small business owners, leading ultimately to a safer UK.
Hayley is trained in Health & Safety & Environmental to degree level, and trained at the Fire Service College for her Fire Risk Assessing and Risk Management. She is also a qualified trainer and loves nothing more that getting out there, speaking to people, being on sites, and learning all about people’s businesses!
During this session Hayley will cover the top 5 common areas of risk for micro and small businesses, with a keynote of empowering businesses to be able to take action themselves in house, without having to use someone like Hayley. She will give information on some simple steps to put in place to not only protect employee health and welfare, but also how to protect the business. It is thought that as high as 85% of micro and small businesses are not fully aware of their legal duties for health, safety and fire, leaving our businesses operating at risk and open to the potential of losses, unexpected costs, fines, fire, lack of insurance payout and employee claims.
Hayley intends to help as many businesses as possible understand what they need to do, so that they can worry less about health and safety and focus on building a strong business that will undoubtedly contribute to providing safer workplaces, better employers and support the local economy.
